Nestling peacefully in the tiny hamlet of Hope Bagot in the Clee Hills, yet only five miles from Ludlow, we can welcome two to four guests in one party in a ground floor wing with French windows to the garden. Down a small country lane, far from the throb of commuter traffic, you can enjoy our sunny garden with a wild flower meadow beside the Colly Brook. We are listed in Alastair Sawday's B&B for Garden Lovers.  There is a hide where you can watch badgers in their natural setting throughout the year.

Our breakfasts were given a special award in 2009 and include home-produced honey, eggs, jam and home-made bread with bacon, sausages and black pudding from local Ludlow suppliers. Please see our website for full details including availability, a floor plan of the guest wing and poems written by past visitors!

Well House Situated three miles from the Welsh border and the Offa’s Dyke Footpath, Well House is set in the tiny hamlet of Chapel Lawn within the hidden Redlake Valley in the South Shropshire Hills, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. We're five miles south of Clun, famous for its pubs, music and Green Man festival. Fifteen miles away is Ludlow.

– This is an ideal spot for anyone wanting peace and tranquility. Next door to a working farm, our lovely, wisteria-clad, oak-beamed, stone farm-house dates from 1714. Our beds are comfortable we can provide double, twin or separate accommodation, mostly ensuite - our breakfasts are large and good and our garden is a delight to laze in and read a book or the Sunday papers.

There is a breakfast room with an open fire on chilly days and a large, elm-panelled living room with an inglenook fireplace and log burner. If you want TV we have it in the living room, and wireless broadband as well, but unless you climb up to historic Caer Caradoc, the nearby Iron Age hill fort, you're out of range of a mobile mast – so you really are away from it all here. If it's too wet to go out, you can stay indoors and watch old videos and play scrabble, or just doze on a sofa.

We welcome one well-behaved dog and children over 8 at any time.  Horses can be grazed next door.  Collection from railway station and transporting luggage ahead is also available.

Prices: £30 - £42.50
